Part 1: Blood is Red
Looking through the window, a canary is looking at the afternoon sky. The sun is setting.
"Hmm? Beaker, boy, you're looking at the sunset again. You sure prefer the night time, don't ya?" Mr. T the pelican sees the canary.
Yes, the canary is named Beaker. He has been staying with Mr. T for three years. Despite Mr. T's temperamental behavior to many people, he loves Beaker, as if Beaker's his only son. Yes, Beaker is adopted, but he has no memory about his past. His habit of seeing the afternoon or night sky, plus the fact that he rarely goes out, actually bothers Mr. T. He's getting a lot worried.
"...Beaker." Mr. T calls him. Beaker doesn't respond, but Mr. T goes on with the telling. "Boy, I know that you prefer the dark sky or cloudy sky, but I'm getting uneasy about you." Mr. T pats him. Beaker still doesn't want to talk.
"Beaker... how about a dinner? I just caught a huge tuna. We can share it together. Come on."
Beaker looks back at Mr. T. He then ignores the sunset and walks out of his room, while Mr. T follows him.
At the dining room, Beaker is still silent, and seems emotionless. Mr. T walks in, asking Beaker. "Uh... Beaker. Can you help me? Er... I actually broke my wings again after bringing that big o' tuna. Maybe... you can grill it or smoke it? Whatever you like, boy." Mr. T is holding his broken right wing. "I'm sorry I'm quite a trouble to you, Beaker..."
Beaker just silently goes into the kitchen and do the cooking. It turns out that he's grilling the fish. Mr. T just watches him from the dining room, still holding his right wing. After Beaker finished, he brings the dish to the dining room. "Ah... thanks, my boy. Once again, sorry for the whole trouble. But... let's just eat anyway." Mr. T smiled.
After the meal, the two have a small talk outside.
"Well... since the sky's dark, maybe we can have a little talk here." Mr. T said. Beaker just looks at the sky like usual. "Hmm... you see, the sky right now... I mean, there are a lot of stars up there... up high on the sky. I'm just a regular old pelican, so that's the only thing I can come up with. Now, do you think that the sky's beautiful? With those stars decorating the sky, I think it's beautiful."
However, Beaker said, "...Sir. Whenever I looked up, I felt like as if there's something... coming to me. I don't know what it is." Beaker then gets up and walks back into the house and sleeps in his room. Mr. T just stares at his house silently.
That night...
Beaker is in an empty vast room. The floor and everything else are colored dull grey. Beaker walks around, until he unknowingly steps on something. When he looked down, it's a red cap. He picked it up. On the cap's place, there's a small blood puddle. Even the cap is dripping blood. "Did this cap get soaked in blood?" Beaker asks himself. Suddenly, footsteps are heard. Beaker looks around, until he catches a glimpse of a silhouette. The silhouette is in the form of a young boy. From his arms, they seem to drip something, maybe blood, as well. The boy said, "That cap you're holding... Is that the red cap? If so... give it... to... me..." Right after the boy said, Beaker's sight turns blurry.
Beaker woke up. It's still midnight. Beaker then realized that he was dreaming. "What kind of dream was that...? And... who's that boy...?"
After thinking for a while, Beaker decided to forget it for a while and go back to sleep.
